Interface on designing the factory as a forest

“We are having conversations around interesting things happening in the future of manufacturing,” said Erin Meezan, vice president and chief sustainability officer at carpet manufacturer Interface. One of those questions: Can a factory mimic a forest? In a pilot project with the Biomimicry Institute, Interface is aiming to build a “positive factory” that not only has no negative environmental impacts but creates a net positive.
