Jeanne Trombly

Ms. Trombly founded Fiber Futures after successfully co-organizing a conference in 1997, which revealed a growing interest in the alternative “non-wood” fiber movement by attracting scientists, environmental advocates, farmers and corporate representatives. Through Fiber Futures, she effectively continued to identify a rapidly growing market opportunity and build a groundswell of interest.

Jeanne brings over 12 years of experience working in community economic development and the environment after having served as the Regional Fundraiser for the American Farmland Trust and Program Director for the Materials for the Future Foundation. In this capacity, she researched and designed an award-winning community revolving loan fund targeting high-risk recycling businesses in Alameda County, California. Jeanne is involved with Plug In America, which advocates the use of plug-in vehicles powered by cleaner, cheaper domestic electricity to reduce our nation’s dependance on petroleum and improve the global environment. In addition, she provided general business technical assistance and helped launch a building materials reuse company in San Francisco. Other background experience includes science writing and managing a group of angel investors. Ms. Trombly has a B.A. in International Affairs/Communications from George Washington University.
