Fiber Crop Mapping

Fiber Futures has launched a Fiber Availability mapping project to address the common challenge of locating a site amidst a reliable and sustainable source of straw. The first stage illustrates agriculatural residue availability.

Presentation - The Straw Harvest Optimization Model (SHOM) was presented at the California Air Resources Board & UCDavis Rice Straw Expo 2002 on July 19, 2002. Previously, it was presented at the 5th Annual Society for Conservation Geologic Information Systems (SCGIS) Conference: in Borrego Springs, July 5-7 2002 and the ESRI User Conference in San Diego, July 8-12, San Diego. Handout - The handout describes the 2000-2001 estimates of wheat straw availability on a county level in the USA and in a 30m resolution detail for Walla Walla county.
