Cotton: Gossypium hirsutum

Where high quality cotton fiber is used in textiles, the shorter fibers unsuitable for spinning usually end up in high end paper products like banknote paper. The cotton stalk can also be used as a fiber source, although there are no commercial applications at the moment.
